A hands-on meet-up about Concourse CI
It’s time for another Automation Night in Aarhus! This time we’ll look at Concourse CI. An intriguing perspective on automation engines.
What should you expect? This is a hands-on introduction and workshop on Concourse. We will dive into Continuous Delivery with Concourse, and look into pipeline configuration and the FLY command amongst other things.
What to bring? Your own laptop with a working git installation and a usable shell. We will provide a Concourse server that you can use for the workshop.
OBS: Some of the tutorial might be troublesome for Windows users.
We hope to see many of you!
16:30 Doors open 17:00 Introduction to Concourse Jan Krag, Continuous Improvement Agent at Praqma Jan Krag will briefly talk about some of the modern ‘mantras’ that we preach in the CoDe community, like ‘everything as code’, containerized builds, stateless infrastructure and so on. These areas seem to push the boundaries of ‘classic’ build servers, like Jenkins & Bamboo. Jan will use this as a springboard to introduce Concourse CI, a recent arrival on the build server stage, and how it seems to have a refreshingly new approach to some of these challenges. 17:25 Workshop introduction Sonny Singh, Consultant at Praqma First, the workshop will give an introduction of pipelines (visual). Then, we will look into how a pipeline configuration looks (yaml), how to setup a simple task, resource and script, how to make local folders for a task, and how to use the FLY command. 17:45 Hands-on workshop Part 1 18:20 Short status check - initial questions 18:30 Break Sandwiches and refreshments 18:50 Hands-on workshop Part 2 20:15 Wrap-up 20:30 Thank you and good bye
